About Samuel

Samuel Cairnduff is an experienced arts and cultural management professional, a lecturer and consultant, who has worked internationally as a leader and manager in the arts. His work focuses on the intersection between culture and society, grounded in a passionate belief in the capacity of cultural institutions to transform lives and communities through ethical and empathetic engagement. 

Samuel’s PhD research examines the concept of cultural leadership in Australian symphony orchestras; the outcome will be a new model of leadership for performing arts organisations. The research explores the fundamental nature of arts and culture in our society, in order to develop and improve its leadership and engagement practices. Through his teaching and mentoring Samuel is dedicated to building the next generation of industry leaders who will amplify the potential of culture and contribute to social cohesion and progress.
